Gen 5 transaxle replace

I searched, but didn't see where anyone had mentioned replacing CV joints / transaxles on a 2005 Camry. I see that in my future.

So, if anyone has done it, what's the difficulty rating on a scale form 1 - 10 ?

Years ago, I took the front axles off a 84 Chrysler Laser to replace CV boots. I wonder how that compares??

The passenger axle will be sized to the bracket if you live in a northern state. Usually have to unbolt the bracket from block and cut dowel pin and replace everything ( new shaft with bearing and also new housing, reuse snap ring and put lots of silver anti seize on the outside of the new bearin before installing into bracket)

Transmission is pretty straightforward but you have to support the engine and remove the large subframe to get trans out. Not something I would do at home. Pays about 12hrs labor to do at a shop.
