96 LS W
AEM Cold Air Intake Catback exhaust 215/40 17's ZR Rated on some fairly light 17's maybe bout 15lbs a peice. VS Stock 03' Celica GT-S 03' Civic Si Ok ok they are both newer and I know the civic's got more hp than me he has 160 i have probably 150. I've had the chance to ride in both cars and mine feels a bit faster(could just be the ride height ect) I feel I will probly lose pretty bad to the celica but have no idea on the specs of the car so there might be a chance. Nwys I wanted to know what you guys think before we hit the drag strip this friday night hopefully. |

The civic may have 10 more hp, but it also has roughly 100lbs on you. As far as the Celica is concerned, just slice his tires.

Alright first off we didn't make it to the dragstrip before we started to race. (point made no ET's to post although now I wish there were) With that said the advice you gave me was to the T and it all came down to the driver vs the civic. We ran a good 4 times and twice a definite win for me and my 96 and twice it was anyones call seriously neither one of us could make a clear win. The celica however ended up having some fuel management problems and
by the way wasn't stock like I was told and posted earlier But nonetheless we both beat him every race because of his fuel managment problems. And one last note on the highway the civic didnt seem capable of touching my teg at high speeds every time we went from a downshift at high speeds my LS slowly inched away every time. Anyways thanks for the advice\help guys.

Yeah torque has a lot to do with highway speed. Your car has way more torque. I know, my mom has an 00 Teg LS, I have an 87 Daytona. Mine is rated at 146 HP, my moms teg is 142, but I can smoke it EASILY because my 2.2L has way more torque. And my car weighs a good 300 pounds more.
