Clutches. What to get

The clutch in my car is finally dead and I need to replace it. I want a clutch that is better than stock but nothing too crazy. I am only looking to spend around $150. Tell me what you think

don't buy dynapak ... I made that mistake once before

I would say try to get a used one since your looking to swap soon.

Well I don't have the time to go out and look for a used clutch. My car doesn't even move right now so I need it fixed A.S.A.P.

my question is kinda the same, i was looking at a centerforce 2 clutch kit, is it any good? the guy was trying to get me to buy a dual fricktion, but i dont need 90% more grab, i want to be able to push the thing down, and the people at mantis racing said its dumb to put anything except a stock clutch into a honda, even if the motor is totally done, is he just an angry man cause im not buying a porsche?

I had a Centerforce dual friction clutch, it was nice, a bit stiffer than stock, and good grab. I'd recommend it.

im def with kunundrum, dynapak sucks, my 13 year old factory clutch was holding better than the brand new dynapak. exedy clutches are supposed to be pretty good http://www.coximport.com/exedy/
they are about 260 though, but still cheaper than most aftermarkets

YEP, thats what i had in my ZC tranny on the A6.... it was AWSOME!!! I LOVED it and so will you!!!! i even bought it from coximport, cause my car club hyperacecrew is sponsored and i got 50% discount on all products so WEE!!!

i got a clutch specialties steal organic disk w/heavyduty pressure plates feels pretty good, pedal is a little stiffer than stock but still very drivable, i dont know the price i ended up paying like $600 or so, cause the shop that did it for me are expensive labor wise but they do very very good work.

= All good aftermarket clutches.....Act is by far the best.

Ceterforce sux, because their friction discs warp under load. If you got a good one, then your lucky.



For a good cheap replacement clutch thats cheaper than stock, yet more heavy duty.....go with a Sach's clutch kit. They run about $100 cheaper than Honda clutches and give you a more responsive feel. My mechanic uses them for stock replacement, and no one has ever complained. I this they can be found at most Auto supply stores like Carquest or any place that supplies repair shops with their inventory.

REMEMBER TO BREAK IT IN FOR 500-750 MILES!!!

ACT clutches are nice, my brother has one in his Tsi Talon, but isnt that kinda overkill for my civic? I want something cheap because I drive a DX civic with 92hp, a sheet of paper would probally hold that just fine.

Also what is so bad with Dynapak clutches, to tell you the truth, Ive never even heard of them.

haha read my first post again, the pressure plate they come with sucks ass. the factory pressure plate had like 16 "fingers" and the dynapak had 4 or 8 i cant remember they are the 140$ clutch kits you get from autozone or places like that.

My mechanic just told me that it is going to cost $300 labor to put in a clutch. It's going to cost me about $500 total to get my car fixed, which is rediculous. How much did you guys pay to get your clutches in?

Anywhere between $200 and $400 depending on what motor you have. B motors seem to cost more labor. Usually a clutch cost about $500 for everything.

My stage 2 Clutch Masters cost me like $480 installed.

Act isnt overkill if you get the right one. They dont have "stages", the just mix and match parts. Most people use the heavy duty pressure plate, with the street disk. I wanted an Act, but they were on backorder when I needed a clutch.
