Question Clutch advice for R32 GTR ??

Hi People,

My clutch is starting to slip badly and I don't think I will get more than another month out of it. To many hard launches on the SDU meets I go too!!!

Anyway, I need some advice......

Will a good quality 'single plate' clutch kit handle reasonably hard driving on a reasonably regular basis??

Am I better to go for a 'twin plate' clutch kit??

Who, in Melbourne, am I best to speak with about this??

What is the best clutch to fit to my car??

Just as a reference, my car has 172kw at four wheels, so approx 240kw at the flywheel. So the power levels are not exesive and won't increase for a while.

Thanks for your help guys!!

HIRISK

Hey Dan,

I did not get a chance to go to Race Pace but I did give them a call......and what a pleasant suprise it was to get someone on the phone who is happy to talk to you and help out!! Ben was great, he gave me a few options (all that were priced well) and was happy to have a chat for a while......we spoke about a few other things that I can look at doing with the car also.

His labour costs were also very competitive, so it looks like he has the job!!

Hey Dan,

OK, is the Hybrid T3/4 going to be roller bearing??

Is the 200/180SX Ball Bearing Turbo going to be from an S15 or an S14??

Are they both brand new or second hand??

Who are they through??

Once I know these variables I will be able to give me opinion and advice, you know me, I will do my homework before I answer the question!!

Kewl, ok there both brand spanking new...

the 180/200sx turbo is roller bearing but the t3/4 is unknown...
Um, the 200sx turbo looks like it might be a new S15 turbo? Not sure but... Can the S15 turbo flow 320hp but? I didn't think so?

These prices are of the turbocare's website, I've emailed them for more details, including compressor maps etc...

What you up to today?

Hey,

Not doin much today, just at work chillin out. It's good here, because I am in sales I can come and go when I please, or just sit here and surf the net!!

As for the turbos......

If the T3/4 is a Ball Bearing type, I would certainly think that the extra $400 or so would be more than justified!! This turbo will allow for a larger overall Hp figure and will flow more air with less heat!!

The 200SX turbo should be OK, The S14 in Oz never had Ball Bearing, so if it S14 spec, it must be a Jap turbo as the Jap S14 DID get Ball Bearing. The Oz S15, however, did get the nice Ball Bearing turbo and I belive is a better constructed turbo to the S14.

Ball Bearing is also important as you make your power lower in the Rev range with will make the car quicker on the street. The T3/4 will be a nice turbo, but if it is not Ball Bearing, be aware it may create a little lage.....but only a little as the T3 exhaust housing on it will spool fairly quick and the T4 Compressor will keep the charge air cooler by not creating to much restriction.

Hardcoregtr33,

Please expand a little for me about your clutch.....

What brand is it?

How old is it?

Is it single or twin plate?

Will it fit in an R32 GTR?

Sorry to be a pain, I just need to know these things before I can say I would like to buy it!!

Are you guys (Dan/Ritchie) going to be at Nando's tomorrow night??

Catch you later.

HIRISK.

Dan,

I have dinner at my parents in Donvale on Thursday night. If you can't get a lift just text me and I will come and get you when I finish their. Most likely at about 9 to 9.30.

Cool,
