heater core problems

I have little or no heat. Both lines to my heater core are hot. Can it still be clogged some how. I've checked my door actuator and it works fine. It doesn't run hot either and it have a new thermostat too. Can it be the core?

if the heater core hoses are hot and no heat then the TEMP DOOR IS STUCK ...inside the air box at the top of the tranny hump..

with this problem what is the engine temp with good heat and when you start moving and loose heat..

I have seen bad/wrong thermostats cause this problem. the engine temp should be 195 deg f . the temp will not move it locks in at the temp. if when moving it drops then the thermostat is bad or the wrong one. could also be screwed up as well on the install.I have had bad new thermostats ...

Re: heater core problems

The temp goes up to about 210(half way) and drops down to 195

Please tell us what vehicle you're working on. Year, Model, Engine, A/C or not, etc.

Also tell us how your door is actuated. Cable, vacuum or electrical.

so the heater core was in the wrong position and this caused the temp door to not move to the heat position ?

how did the heater core move ? does it look like someone screwed with it ?

Re: heater core problems

Who ever installed it before i bought the truck moved it out of position to keep heat out of the cab because it didn't have A/c or didn't know how to install one in the first place

this was installed wrong . if he did not want any heat bypassing the heater core is what would be done at the engine heater core hose ports.

with high humidity you would need some heat to clear the condensation off the windshield..
