All - please be aware that the heater core contains numerous passages (10-20) through which coolant can flow, so just because you were able to flush the core in both directions, doesn't mean that it's clear. You could be getting flow through half of the passages while the other half are still plugged.

Yes as I can attest to this have seen it multiple times.
