Initial D mod sets + model kits question

I'm to be ordering a couple of kits from Hobby Link Japan
They are:

Ryousuke's FC 1/24- Fujimi
Keisuke's FD 1/24- Fujimi
1/24 FC with Ryousuke and Keisuke - Fujimi
1/24 FD Modifications Kit + Keisuke figurine - Gesse/GZ
1/24 FC Modifications kit + Ryousuke figurine - Gesse/GZ

The total is around $110, I think maybe around 140 if i include shipping. Ugh..

Is it better to get the Initial D versions of Fujimi's rx-7s, or the regular ones and fit them with the parts and the figurines? I really want the figures, so I decided to get the parts kits anyway, which don't have the mags/tires/exhaust/etc. of the original Initial D car kits (so those would have to be bought separately). If i don't get a pair of stock RX-7s to put them on, they'd just be lying around though.

If anyone knows a slightly cheaper online retailer or way to get all these or where to get similar figures of Ryousuke and Keisuke Takahashi (pics: /images/ges/gesid-02.gif and http://www.hlj.com/images/ges/gesid-03.gif)
esp. 2nd stage-like versions, please post an URL or such. It'd be greatly appreciated. And I'd be able to save the rest for christmas...

I'd get the initial d sets and buy the GZ upgrade parts as well.. since fujimi is famous for making not so high quailty kits, specially the special edition kits...
