Headlight Bulbs? Can anyone help?

I just recently replaced my bulbs, I had some blue 80 watt bulbs but after a while they started to dim and put in some 55 watt bulbs and now they look about the same. Does anybody know the maximum wattage I need and what brand are good. I mean I need something bright as possible with out paying alot of money for real HID conversion. Thanks.
My accord is a 99 is it possible the wiring is goin bad because as I think it use to be alot brighter with previous bulbs I just replaced.

sylvania silver stars (white) or sylvania cool blue (blue). they might cost more than those fake "XENON HID SUPER WHITE" on ebay, but theyre brand name and well worth the money.

Were they cheap bulbs? Most likely they were & shitty stuff will do that. When adding higher output light bulbs also replace your headlight wiring harness to prevent melting. Try adding some fog/driving lights if you need more light.
