Call your Chevy dealer they just came out with a recall on wipers not working. All it is the pulse module goes bad. If you want start the truck up, turn the wipers on and wiggle the wiper motor connector to see if they come on.

wiper problem

Your problem with your wipers is probobly simpler than you think. follow your wires and look for any parts of that wire that have worn down or are exposed, you might just have a short. Or at least that was the problem with my wipers

This worked for me

Here is the fix that worked for me. Just about 10 minutes and my wipers were working like a champ on my '99 K1500 Suburban.

Thumbs down Re: wipers

I have a 98 Silverado and my wipers are doing the same thing. if you put pressure on the wiring harness that plugs in to the motor, the wipers begin to run again. But it doesnt last. I've tried Chevrolet web site looking for a recall and also tried Auto Zones site which has a recall, but I found nothing for a 98 chevy on wiper blades. Let me know if you are able to find a recall!!

Re: wipers

Me, too. Same problem, wiggle the connector plug, and the wipers work for a little while. Seems to be worse when the engine compartment heats up.

Re: wipers

OK the answer is to get a new relay/control module. you can buy one at carquest or autozone. do not let your dealer tell you you need the whole unit. they charge 150 dollars I paid under 25 you unplug the harness take out the screws and the unit pulls right out. The dealer does have a recall get your vin number and give them a call, My 97 was not on there but unit before and after were (go figure) so screw the dealer and fix it your self.

Re: wipers

My 97 did get teh wiper recall, by the previous owner, acording to GM's records. No difference. The wipers will only work when you wiggle the plug that goes into the wiper motor, ever so slightly. I removed the circuit board to check for cracked solder joints, with no results. I resoldered anyways.
Still have the problem. I believe in my case it might be the actual plug connector. Trouble is, I can't se anything wrong with it.
