79 350 battery problems

So I replaced my oil pump and changed out headers on my 350 went to hook up the terminals to the battery and tightened them down and went to fire her up but for some reason the negative cable glows red hot like I could light a smoke of it if I wanted when i turn the key no wires were damaged in the work I checked them all no shorting out any where no corrosion on the posts and the battery is full of distilled water and its a good battery its only a year old I dont know what else to do im at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated im pulling at my hair and I aint got much left to lose lol

Maybe a problem with ground cable?

well after spending more money than I wanted to I just replaced all the grounds with fresh new ones it fixed it self but now I have a draw some where i hate electrical
