Thumbs down Why view a post if you have nothing to say?

I mean there are post that are just viewed but no input is made? that makes no sense, You could say some dumb sh*t and that would be better than just passing it up

Cuz the title doesn't exactly explain everything. That's why I view some and pass.

Some view it just to read the post and get ideas, as if they had the same question and needed answers. It was fun watching a post a while back where a couple of guys were going back and forth about torque and time. Some people just read.

And, who's to say, that by the time you read the post, the same thing you would have said, has in fact already been said. why beat a dead horse

These are all good points but isn't it really annoying that no one answers your post, i posted 3 times before this one and had no response. Is asking about 18x8 wheels a bad post or not a good enough topic or is it in the wrong section?

For your specific question, you might try also asking here:

Wheels and Tires forum

As to thread views and thread titles, they are often vauge, incomplete or misleading. For example, the thread title "18x8 rims" could be on a thread with a review of 18x8 rims, pics of 18x8 rims, pics of 18x8 rims on a car, a question about 18x8 rims, etc...

If a user opens a thread, reads it, and has no useful input, we prefer they move on. They would only be adding 'noise' to any discussion. Also, it would be frustrating to anyone looking for the answer to find only non-responses.
