Haven't seen the movie. But I've seen a commercial of it on TV.

Are you talking about the stripes? Haven't noticed any sponser decals on the hood.

Do you really want to make that car. The blue stripes look gay. Makes me want to puke.

Someone here has done the nismo skyline with blue stripes already though. Can't remeber his name.

Haven't noticed the decals? How could you miss them, they're large and obtrusive, right on the side of the hood. There's even an APC sticker in there somewhere.

Here's a pic of the hood.

I's say your best bet would be to find all the logos and print them on a decal sheet in blue. I'd do the stipes as decals too so the colors match up.

Good luck

I actually like that R34. The sponser decals don't bother me a lot.

The side stripes could be masked and sprayed, but it'd be hard to match up with your sponser decals. I think I might try one of those too.

i don't mind the fact that there's sponsor decals on the car, that's a regular occurence. the thing that bothers me is that there's an APC decal on an R34 Skyline. that's just NOT RIGHT!

that car is evil in my books...but if you feel like building it...more power to you, i think...

Masking could work on the stripes, but to get the fade on the side stripes of the car would would be difficult. Could you spray is solid and then fade it down using cutting compound?

I really like this car, but it's a shame that they converted it to rear wheel drive for the movie. I think that it was a good decision to keep the graphics simple and all the same color.

.......

S13_Iketani, why such a fuss over the APC sponsorship?

Been wanting to build this for ages. You gotta make the sponser decals yourself and it seems decals might be the best option for the graphics too. Unless you got a good flowing airbrush and alot of masking tape. Its gonna be hard to blend the colours though.
Mines gonna have working neons...electronics teacher said i could do it as part my curriculum.

You could wait until I bring out the decals and other bits and pieces for it. The C-West transkit I made was done with this car in mind, plan is to have the decals, wing, rims and possibly the interior goodies to go with it in the coming months.

i had already made the skyline before chris released his cwest kit, will now be remaking another one to replicate it better with the cwest kit, i sprayed the car silver then masked off and used tamiya blue clear acrylic. it just took a bit of time and patience

also there is no blending of colours on the car, that is just light and shade! its solid colour, possibly a pearl paint

I have a lot of those markings available. Not sure if it's going to be the right color blue for you though. You can see the decal sheet here:

To get the fade (it looks like a fade to me), you could mask it off and then spray clear blue with an airbrush just like Chris did. I've faded paint before sucessfully. Takes some practive and a whole lot of patience. I'm going to wait until I can find more reference material and get together money to order the SAS C-Style R34 and ITR body kits.
