OBX Short Shifter
having fitting problems with the OBX Racing Short Shifter. The damn thing is loose when it is in gear. It works great also when actually shifting. The problem arises that I can hear it rattle when i let go of it. It did not come with the paper gasket that i need to find so if anyone can let me know where i can get teh paper gasket.

is this the same SupraFlame from the Velocity boards?
if so, what's up man? it's driftRPS13, or Brian as i'm more often known. ![]() btw, barrigaS14, your post was removed because it offered no value to the thread. he didn't ask for your personal opinion of the shifter, he asked for advice on how to install it.

I had the same problem with mine, and I bought it new. It did not include any gaskets, tip ties, dust boot or even an end cap. Had to get most of the stuff from the dealer (only $10 total). Even with all this I had to modifiy it a little to make it work. The damn shifter would not fit onto the pins so I had to file it a little. The dust boot I cut in half (horizontally) and stuffed up through the mount plate so it acts as a seal on both ends. Then lastly I wrapped the clamp bars with electrical tape so they would fit tight and not rattle. After all that it works nicely. I will never buy one again though, that's for damn sure. I was able to find a copy of the instructions from a Pilot Motorsports shifter online (same as OBX I'm told) and it looked to me like it had everything the OBX was missing, including a gasket...

OBX Shifter Fix
here is the fix for the OBX Shifter. Go get a toilet washer from home depot it fits mansell 210 and mansel 211 toilets. Fit that over shift control. Then remove the bottom cap of the factory shifter and fit it on the OBX shifter. Insert the obx shifter while the vehicle is in neutral. Place the original snap ring ontop of the shifter and lay it flat against the spacer so that it fits in the mold of the spacer. insert the half moon arcs backing plates. Insert the bolts and use rubber washers. Tighten fully and test shifter. The shifter is noisy and rattles at around 4 grand. Its really nice now but I am going to work on getting the shifter plate made out of polyureathane. on the bottom so that it doesn't rattle as much. I have also considered getting the Cs or the B&M shifter further down the road.
