89 buick century transmission

I got the fuel smell fixed turned out that one of the hose was not connected. while I had it in the shop had them check out a tranny slip that just started. he took it to a transmission shop and they said they would rebuild it for $1300.00 which I can't afford at the moment does any one know where I could pick up a used transmission? I know there are some places on the internet. But would like to find one that guarantees that it's been checked out.

Call local salvage yards for what you need, going to be very tough to find that old a trans, and for that matter a usable one. On the net would require expensive shipping unless local like I suggested.

Try car-part.com. You should be able to find a wrecking yard in your area so you can go and pick up the transmission.
