Well it was about 11:30 last night and I was crusing with me and 3 of my friends in my car just kinda taking a scenic drive when up ahead at a perpendicular stop sign I see some blue headlights and some big blue rally-style fog lights. I have seen this guy before and he has a silver impreza 2.5 RS that's hopped up to some degree, but I don't know how much. I gun it while he is sittin at the stop sign so that he gets the idea and sure enough he takes off to try to catch up. I decided to just start crusin at about 50 mph until he starts riding my ass, and then take off. Sure enough he gets right up on my rear bumper, and I stomp on it. Since I had 4 people in the car and he was by himself, my power advantage was pretty much gone, but at about 90 mph I am about 2 cars in front of him. Then we come up to this curve marked for 35 mph. I take it at about 70 or 75 and leave him in the dust. I think I've proven my point so I slow back down to normal speeds, plus we are entering town now. Sure enough, the bastard speeds up on me with a full head of steam, and gets right on my bumper. I stomp on it again and he must have been better prepared for this because he only loses about a carlength, if that. By this point my passengers are screaming, whether it was out of joy or terror I don't know, and we come up to a construction zone with lots of cones that is very narrow. I take these turns made from the traffic cones at about 75-80 mph and I totally dust him again. Then we get to this light and we both decide to turn right. I wait for him to get up along side of me and then I gun it. I pull about a carlength on him up to 60 or 65 mph and then we have to slow down because of traffic. I turn off to take my friends home and he goes his seperate way. Great fun!

Hey street_racer, how fast is your gen Max usually?
Last night, I decided to chase some guy who was driving agressively in one, and once he saw me hanging behind him, he punched it and so did I... ...since he had the jump, he was ahead by about 2 cars and it STAYED THAT WAY all the way to 90MPH, where he slowed down for his upcoming turn. Keep in mind, similar examples of my car have run 15.2 bone-stock. Most are in the 15.4-15.6 range. I'm sure if we went any farther, he would've pulled away though.

I'm not honestly sure how fast my car personally is. The 5th gen max with the VQ-30 runs to 60 mph in about 6.7 seconds with the standard, about 7.5 with the auto. Mine is an auto, even though in race situations I shift it manually. I have never taken my car to an official strip, so I don't have a time slip to tell me anything. I've hung with some 350 novas before with light mods though, with the 3-speed auto. I lost by a couple carlengths to a bone stock '02 GT stang 5-speed. Those are some examples of how my performance compares to some other cars, but I don't have any rock-solid number for ya.

Cool. Must've been an auto, since the classic SE-R stock runs about 7.1-7.5 0-60 stock...which mine is.
