Fuse burnt out :(

yea, last night i noticed that the dome lights in the speedometer thing wouldn't turn on, and it was really dark at night D:. So i had my friend look at the fuse box and he told me that i blew a fuse. He tried putting in a 15 amp fuse and it burnt out....the car was on...doh! Then he put in another one while the car was off, and it still blew . The stock one has 10 amps. Any reason to why my friends 15 amp burnt in my CRX? it sucks driving at night without lights. I have to use my LED red lights to see how fast i'm going :P

sounds like u may have a live wire groundign out somewhere causing the fuse to blow, just a possibility

check for any bare or loose wires

When I first got my civic the wiring for the radio was all messed up. I had one of those old alpine tape decks that pulls right out of the dash when you leave the car (before the removable face plates came around).

Anyhow, anytime I had the deck in the car and turned on, if I went to turn on my headlights the fuse for the dash lights would blow. It was a real pain in the ass not having the radio at night.

Problem was fixed when I put in my cd deck.

Well... it doesnt really matter what fuses you use, so if 10 or 15 dont work. TRY 30!!!!! ^^ Had to do that because my headunit put out so much power it killed my fuse every 5 min.

Keep in mind by using a giant fuse you are allowing more power through those small wires and you will eventually fry the wires themselves. Have fun fixing that.

You would be VERY surprised how much power can safely go through those tiny wires before stuff starts to go wrong. I have 280W going through one of those with a 30amp fuse, and the wires don't even get warm, no warning lights come on or anything.

the signal your amp is sending to a subwoofer is different than the power going through the wires in a fuse box. notice that you have to run a higher gauge wire like 8 or 4 to an amp, but you only have to run 16awg to the speaker?
