Prelude owners bash Civic owners

all the prelude guys i see and stuff they all talk crap about the civic....maybe i can see sohc honda civics but cmon i would think i got a good engine to compete against preludes(my 2 cents) My Si 2000, but im just trying to make peace with all of you guys... just some idiots in some civics just ruin it for all of us.

yeah, it sucks that it's a few civic guys that ruin it all for the rest of you. it's just that the typical civic owner is generally younger than the prelude guys. most of us have nothing against the civic itself, it's the guy behind the wheel usually. i went to a huge lude meet this past weekend, and it's obvious that the average age of prelude owners is considerably higher than those of civics. but no one acted stupid, it was a very smooth meet. and for comparison, i went to a civic meet a few months ago, and it was shut down by the cops an hour later coz a few guys were racin in the parkin lot, while other were doin burnout all over the place. that's not a judgement call, that's a fact.

prelude owners may seem like we have this chip on their shoulders and we may seem like asses sometimes but we got a lot of love for most cars, even civics. it's some of the drivers that make them look bad.

True, most young people dont own preludes, but thats because most of the people wouldn't shell out the extra cash for a prelude. Most people I know would rather buy a civic for half the price, and then spend that saved money on stuff to make the car special to them.

An asshole is an asshole, doesn't matter what badge is on the car. So how about a little more maturity? Thats whats wrong with the import community.....No respect...

Im 16 and i own a lude and im gonna turbo it.. im also young and own a civic.. i love both cars.. dont see me hating civics or ludes or even accords! Only set of ppl i hate are ricers.. donbt like then and definatly dont need those idiots!

cheers to the ludes. im 20 and my last prelude ate shit into the front of a big ass chevy truck...buying another soon. anyway thats not the point. preludex said it- its not the civic but the ricer drivin it. when you see a modded civic drivin down the street, what do you think? rice of course. even if its not rice, you still think that because most civic are rice (unless its hella clean of course). anyway thats all. peace, eric

i think it is the same even for teg drivers tho. most of the time, the guys i kno w/ civics are a little too cocky for their own good. now im not saying that other import drivers aren't (cuz tons are), but for the most part, the ricers i know are civic drivers w/ a huge fart-can who think they own the road.

but...if u like ur civic...great, don't let wut ppl think of u bring u down at all.

I think you guys are overlooking one important fact....


Most civics can be had for dirt cheap. So of course most ricers are going to own civics. Thats a given. Plus people who buy fart cans and big ass APC winshield banners aren't exactly concerned with quality. So again, the majority of the import community is going to be piece of shit rice rockets. Why spend $15g on a car your going to destroy when you can have a civic for $1500

I can personally say that I have seen maybe 2 88-91 Civics in this area that arent totally riced out, and have clean appearance. And I can say that I haven't seen one Prelude that I've liked around here. Most of the time, they are lowered with rims, and thats it. Probably because the kids who own them are so far in debt from buying the lude.

I think a ricer is someone who is into imports for the wrong reasons. Those are the people who are so concerned about what everyone thinks about them and their car, because they have no personality. Or you have the ones who do it just to attract high school girls. And the best of all are the ones who think they are "street racer's", and would rev on their grandmother if she was driving a civic.

I tune my car because I enjoy working on it, and I love to drive it. Its nice when people compliment you, but overall I dont really care. As long as Im having fun, who gives a shit about what the guy with the Pep Boy's exhaust thinks?

who gives a shit? some people like smaller cars (civic) some like a bigger, sportier car like a lude. personally i like the lude, but i respect someone who idolizes a civic. it's like comparing oranges and apples...

but don't hate guys who spend some coin and think they are in debt, personally i think a stock lude with nices rims is classy. i could rice out my car, but i choose not to

Not hating on those who can shell out the cash for a lude....shit if I had the money, I'd buy an s2000 in a second. And I'd love to have an old school lude (like 88), but theres just not alot out there for it. I have a hard enough time finding quality stuff for my Si.

Nothing wrong with stock appearance/aftermarket rims thing. I was just trying to say that I dont see modded Ludes at all around here, Except for this one thats in my neighborhood. Its a 93 I think.

Your totally right about apples and oranges, or as I like to put it..."weapon of choice". I just feel the civic gets a bad rap, because the majority of them are owned by "tuner illiterate" assholes, who just rice them up and think that they are the shit.

Theres nothing unique about buying the same stupid graphics out of a MI catalog that 4 million other people have. That goes for all cars, but everyone knows when people think of honda, they think civic. Shit, the things has been around for 30 years. I dont think its the car that deserves the hate, just ricers in general.

I bought my 90 prelude 2.1si for $1,300 i could have got it for $1,200 but i had to travel to get it and i didn't want them to sell it so offered more. crazy I know but the car was in great condition. and 1300 was still a good deal.
I just decided to add this b/c of the talk of preludes being expensive...mine wasn't thats all.

Well im 17 and I have a 97 SH. Personally, I usually get shit from my civic guys. They're all my friends, but they think they're special because their jdm b16's and b18's swapped hatches SOMETIMES beat me. I bought a lude because of the fact that its an awesome, sporty, stylish car STOCK and their is no need to swap engines to make it quick, and not because of its extreme potential. Don't get me wrong, ludes have potential, but there isnt much of an aftermarket compared to the civic and nothing that is really worth swapping. Their swapped hatches are build for speed. The whole weight thing is holding us back. The lude is a great car and for the fact that theyre pretty rare and not seen very often is just a bonus.

find a civic the same year, same miles, and same general condition, and you'll see, the prelude will still be more expensive
