How do i change gear oil?

i have a 2000 civic ex coupe 5speed, and i was wondering if someone can tell me or show me how to change the oil in the gear box, and also what type of oil should i put in it?? this is for my gears, i already know who to do an engine oil change. thank you

I assume you mean tranny fluid. If so than it's just like changing oil. There's a drain plug and a filler plug. I'm at work so I can post pics, maybe someone else can. I suggest getting the oem manual tranny fluid. It's costs about the same as any other. The only thing is that to fill you need one of those pump things because the filler hole is in a hard to reach spot. It takes about 3 1/2 quarts and you just fill till it overflows.

Jiffy Lube charges like $25.00 to change the man. trans fluid which is 10w-30 oil. Its a pain in the ass to fill it laying on the ground with the car on jackstands, you could try attaching a hose to a funnel & fill from the top.



Having lifts & oil guns is wonderful
