the f22b SOHC is supposed to hold up pretty well for a stock engine. 8psi or something? thats w/o mods too. but dont take my word for it without backing. and yea, i have the f22b1 under my hood

I read somewhere that (after reinforcement of certain internal components) the F22b, when turbocharged, will provide more bang-for-the-buck then going with an H22a swap (I hear many people saying that they didn't gain what they expected from the swap, but then again, there are most likely key things that were done wrong or neglected in the swap) unfortunately, the cost can really vary if the turbocharging route is taken. On the swap side, I think it's pretty set in stone, that most people end up paying $2500 to 3k for an H22, then $500 or so on top of that for installation, since apparently there isn't much that needs to be altered when dropping an H22 into an Accord (aside from mods to the VTEC system to comp for DOHC, lengthening and/or general frankensteining of certain tubing and wire work necessary for compatability, etc.) I don't think most people end up paying more than $4k or so after all is said and done (let me know if I'm wrong) Turbocharging though, as previously stated, can REALLY vary, since there is some serious custom work that needs to be done under the hood (mounting of an intercooler, several lengths of added piping, exhaust system bypass work, etc.) in addition to the possiblility of necessary reinforcement of core engine components to handle boost pressure. It all comes down to money, I guess. Personally, while I'd LOVE to hear that trademark turbo sound coming from under my hood, and be able to chime in on conversations about spooling and boost pressure, I would probably go with the H22a instead. But, in all honesty, if I had 3 or 4k dollars sitting around that I could afford to spend on my car, then that would probably mean that I was making pretty good money at whatever I was doing, so I'd just as well trade up to a Prelude, or, better yet, an S2000 (since by the time I'll be making good money like that, they'll be a couple more years in the hole used-car wise, and therefore, far more affordable)
