Stalling, power loss

Hi, I have a 97 Prelude Type-SH. Recently I noticed it start stalling when switching gears and i push the gas. Feels like a 90hp car then in a second the power comes back to normal. I can also noticed if I accelerate slowly its kinda jumpy not constant rate of acceleration. It concerned me so I dropped it to the dealer. They said if there is no light on it would be a waste to put it on the computer. So I said ok test drive it. Told them when i felt it and how to get it to do it. They called back and said my car drove just fine then proceeded to ask me what all I had done to my car and blah blah.... I said F it. Change the fuel filter because they were gonna charge me 35 dollars just to go for a joy ride in my baby. No change after fuel filter changed. So I changed my spark plugs to NGK Iridium. Still no change. I guess Ill buy a 75 dollar set of plug wires and see if that changes anything. When I first purchased it this problem didnt exist. The car had 80K miles on it and now has 97K So within 17K miles this has happened. Any input would be great. Also the mug burns through some oil, bout a quart every 1000 miles.

you may have a bad O2 sensor. check that. try cleaning them off before you buy new ones then see if it still hesitates, they're pricey. and have a compression test done on your ride. you may have a bad piston ring.
