is this an expensive job? how much should I expect to pay someone to put cut and replace? I have a great parts distributor, so I'll probably buy the part separately.

How many miles do you have... the Catalytic Converter is under warranty until 80k miles. Mine went out at 55k and they replaced it for free. If not for free I believe the cat is around $600 and shouldn't be that expensive to install.

I have over 200K miles
in my 92 BMW.
I've called a few places for a quote and you're absolutely right. the part goes for $465 upto $650! I really need a new car so I don't have to keep fixing old parts! now the sunroof motor doesn't work! |

Actually it is ALWAYS/99% more economical to fix your old car than buy a new one.

do you think so?
even if after so many miles you have to replace things from the engine to the body kit because it's all old and needs to be retired? I am also afraid that an old car is most likely to leave you on the side of the road...
Is it true that if you replace an engine "a car is never the same, it'll always have problems"? (i.e. timing) |
