Paint roof , rims and callipers brake cover on a golf 7

Hi , I wanted to ask which kind of spray should I use to paint my rims in black and my brakes cover in red ? And what are the precautions to take?
My car is white , normal black or mate black is better ?

And which kind of paint should i use to paint my roof black ?

First, you're probably NOT going to like my answers...

Red caliper covers - I'd buy a new set of covers. Most are powder-coated and will last for years with only cleaning required. Even the best of the caliper paints don't last more than a year or so before they require repainting.

Top and wheels - my personal preference, especially for the wheels, would be a single-stage urethane. It will resist 'road damage' much better than a base-clear paint and won't be effected as easily by the heat from the brakes. If you go with urethane, be sure to have the wheels sandblasted and use the proper primer so that you get the best adhesion. Urethane also stands up well to sun exposure. As a final note, I wouldn't do either of these projects with rattle-can paints since almost all of them fade and chalk much faster than quality automotive paint - spending a little money on having the job done correctly will pay off in the long run.

Last, I notice from your personal info that you live in Beruit. One thing you might consider is that a black roof retains a LOT of heat. I like silver roofs on white cars. It gives a different look, is easier to care for and is MUCH cooler!

Go for a good quality spray paint or contact the manufacturer who offer such deals.

Sorry that I haven't replied sooner. I've been trying to catch up with a specialist to give you some idea about the possible cost.

In answer to your other question, urethane is a generic term for a class of paints that have a type of plastic dissolved in them. When they are applied, a catalyst (hardener) is added along with a reducer (thinner). The finish that results is very hard and won't chip except in very harsh conditions, which makes urethane ideal for painting wheels.

After I typed my first reply, I realized that your car is a Golf 7 (it's in the header, but not the text...). VW generally uses a water-based base coat/clear coat finish on their car bodies. Since this type of paint is already on the top of your car, it would probably be a good idea to stay with it. That, along with pricing, is what I want to discuss with my specialist friend. I'll get back to you as soon as I talk with him.

I finally caught up with the fellow I needed to speak with...

First, I have to say that these estimated prices are based on the rates from a private shop in the central U.S. - shops in larger cities and automobile dealers would undoubtedly charge more. He agreed with me on the use of catalyzed urethane on the wheels. He said that the price to paint 4 wheels would be about USD 125.00 (~ LBP 220,000). This would be with the wheels either dismounted from the tires or with the tire beads 'broken down' so that the edges of the rims could be coated. Also, the customer (you) would be expected to wash the wheels thoroughly with ammonia and then a pre-cleaner and finally scuff them with Scotchbrite.

The top (again, here) would run about USD 600 (~LBP 900,000). In this case, the paint shop would probably want to do all the prep, provide the paint and do the finish sand-and-buff.

I guess I should have asked you up-front if you wanted to try doing this yourself - I simply assumed that, given the car model, you wanted a professional-looking job done by someone skilled in painting cars.

I use rustoleum bbq grill paint on my calipers 18.hundred degree paint, never had a problem and around $5 bucks a can I no it's being cheep but work very well never had a problem and can find it at most hardware stores and comes in many colors, just sayen
