Rb30

I need a little info. What cars come with the RB30 so I can keep an eye out. What gear box will mate up?? What heads?? What mounting mods must be made to stuff it into a R32 GTS-t.

alot of R31 cars had them , also VL commodores , you need a RB25 or RB26 head , any RB gearbox will bolt up but the RB20 ones will be too weak . all the mounts fit if you want to modify the bonnet but if you want to keep the standard bonnet you have to make new engine mounts and sump to have it sit lower in the engine bay. I think there is only about an inch or so in it , so it might be easier to change the bonnet .

Thx Bren...long time no type. Hows the GTR coming??

How much HP will I be looking at with a T04-E setup. Cause I don't have a RB25 tranny or bigger. Does the RB25 head have the same exhaust stud pattern. Bummer if I need a new manifold.

WD From what I've heard the rb30 is an export motor only in regards to japan but they must be around. we have them here in our commodores with a turbo option and were single ohc rather than double. guys here use these motors is various forms and the best time so far is 9:61 and I think that car used an rb26 head rather than the rb25 they are using single and twinturbos on these. I've found a japanese tuning shop that does these it's called test rossa and they call it the rb31. they are like 350 chev's over here well not really but there are heaps and you can use the N/A block cause the oil line hole are just filled with bungs I even have somewhere a page where a guy details his build up. they guys in oz use auto trans missions with them as well. mail me for more info if you like.
watch this post I'll edit it with more details

the GTR is coming along slowly , I should get some pics of what it looks like now because my website was shut down , I wont give an estimate on completion date as yet because all my other estimates have been wrong . the RB25 head has the same exhaust manifold bolt pattern , the head also flows alot better than the RB20 one . the HP is a tough one but I would say that 550 wouldnt be too hard to get because you have 50% more capacity , it would also be alot more drivable but the rev limit would be alot lower than the rb20 one.
