Check your shocks

I have a 2004 Double Cab with the TRD Off Road package. About one month after buying it, the squeaking started just like you had explained. I also thought it was the leaf springs but it turns out the shocks were screwed. Being under warranty, I don't really care - YAY, brand new shocks. I'm wondering if Toyota is going to have to fork out a whole bunch of new shocks from this annoying little problem.

Re: leaf spring bushing squeak

I too, have this squeak...anymore of us out there?

I wonder if there's a TSB on rear TRD shocks?

Mine are stock "yellow bilstein shocks".

Yep. Yellow Billstein Shocks.
Squeak! Squeak!
I noticed that they didn't squeak in the rain, but once it dried out it sounded like "an old bed and two youngsters gettin it on when I go down the road."
Warranties are cool.
Bye Bye Squeak.

I'm now having to wait a week for the shocks to arrive from the States.
(Us Canadians spend all our time fighting off polar bears and playin' hockey so we rarely have time to take stock of our car parts.)
Once I get them replaced I'll be sure to give 'em a good work out and see what kinda sounds we get.
Stay Tuned.

Squeak Gone

The rear shocks were replaced under warranty and the truck rides as quietly as you would expect a Toyota to.
For any of you lucky owners of a Squeaky Double Cab, I would recommend visiting your dealer ASAP.
All the best from the great white north.
