Information about MyLink

Hi everyone. I'm a proud owner of a 2013 Malibu that I bought last year. I think it's a great car and has served me well. Lately, I've seen a lot of updates that have gone into the MyLink system for the 2014 Malibu. So I called Infotainment Systems of GM to ask if any updates would be available for the 2013 modules (i.e. voice command text messaging).

I was told that unless there is bugs or fixes that come out for the radio, there will be NO updates. Basically, what we have is what we get. I honestly think that is a fraud for those of us who bought the 2013 Malibu. We won't be able to get ANY new features that go into the 2014 and newer model Chevys.

So when you see these new features for the 2014 Malibu MyLink system, and wonder if GM will release an update that will include these features, think again. I guess it's bad enough that Ford and other vehicles have more features than the MyLink system, and GM is just catching up with the times.

Re: Information about MyLink

Other manufacturers do this as well. Nissan, for one, comes to mind. So it's not just GM. But I do agree that it's bad business.
