want start

Hey i have a 99 silverado (4.8 liter) i have a problem. It want hardly start. i've been told every thing it posably could be,but i don't have the money to go buy all thoughs parts so if anyone knows what it could be please help. It will crank and crank and then it will finally start,and when it does start it will puff white smoke and smells like gas. thank you if anyone has had the same prblem please tell me

Did you find out why it wouldn't start? My 1994 Silverado will not start either. I think it is electrical. The battery and starter are fine, but the engine will not even turn over.

sounds like the fuel pressure is bleeding off causing extended crank, remove the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator and see if their is fuel in the vacuum line, if so replace the regulator, this will cause your concern, also may have a injector leaking,

if fuel pressure does not hold it is refered to as bleeding off

Hey I Pulled The Vacume Line From The Pressure Regulator And Fuel Started Spewing Out , I Guess I Found The Problem. I Checked The Injectors And There All Working What I Did Find Was The # 4 Plug Black Is This Due To The Pressure Regulator ?
