headlights
2013 rav 4 with extremly "poor" low beam lighting. The dealer says the lights cannot be adjusted and I do not believe that is true. Any suggestions....
Thanks! |

Re: headlights
In what way are they "poor"? Dim? Angled wrongly onto the roadway? Both?

Re: headlights
Angled wrong....not out far enough. It's almost impossible not to overrun your lighting even at low speeds. IMO it's a dangerous situation.

Re: headlights
Forget what the "dealer" said. Get them adjusted or adjust them yourself. There should be screws on the top and rear of the headlight which move them up and down, and right and left, respectively. Go somewhere dark and adjust them further down the road. IMO, they should point around 100 ft down the road and slightly to the right of center.
If you get flashing brights from oncoming cars on two-lane roads, you are too far to the left or too high.

Re: headlights
Thank you Brian. I will adjust them myself and plan to call the service manager about their claim that they Cannot be adjusted.
