I am trying to figure out why the fuse under the dash (taillights, gauge cluster, dash fuse) keeps blowing as soon as I switch on my headlight switch. The gauge meters all work fine except the seatbelt warnng. It has never worked since I put the cluster in my 93 Cx. I'm going to check to see if it's plugged in under the drivers seat. I checked all the wires I spliced for the GSR into the civic and none are touching each other. The harnesse are wrapped in electrical tape so they can't be touching any metal at the connections I made. I never had this problem until I installed the GSR cluster. It happened after a week or so being installed. The lights and everything worked then one day the fuse blew. I installed another fuse and about a week later it popped. Now as soon as I put a new fuse in and hit the switch to the lights they pop.
All the gauges work as stated above. It has to be something that is in line with the fuse for the gauge lights, dash lights, and tail lights. Since I never had this problem until I installed the GSR I am guessing it's something to do with the cluster's dimmer or power/ ground wire. Thanks for any help on this!

The answer is clear. Something is grounding out. What exactly??? Only extensive searching will answer that.

Yeah, one of the wires is touching metal. I had the same problem with aftermarket city lights. They began to cut into the wires and kept popping the fuse.

TRIED SOMETHING ELSE
Installed a new fuse and removed the GSR cluster and the 2 harnesses. All that was left were the civic wires and the SRS plug. The fuse immediatly popped once the parking lights were turned on. I took a good look at the 2 plugs where the wires for the civic are all connected. I don't see any of the wires touching Is there a chance that when I pushed the wires back to place the gauge cluster in place that a wire or 2 got split open and are touching? I really don't see how this could happen when there is thick loom around the wires. Thanks for any ideas on this. No taillights No license plate lights No dash lights No parking lights
