First time Installing a Subs with Amp...
I just bought two 12" Subwoofers in an enclosure with a Bazooka Amp. I do not know the first thing about hooking it up or anything. Just wanted to know if someone has done this before in a Stratus. I dont know if it matters but I am hooking them up in a 2001 Dodge Stratus R/T. Any advice or anything would be greatly appreciated!
(I'm planning on putting everything in the trunk) |

I just installed an MP3 deck, a 12" sub and amp in my 2000 stratus. It wasn't hard. I would recommend you spend the $20 and buy an amplifier install kit. It'll come with all the necessary cables and fuses.
Then what you do is run a cable from the battery, thru the firewall, along the sill plate. Be sure you have a fuse inline on this cable b/c if it shorts out it could cause a fire. I tucked the cable under the plastic molding. Then I ran it under the back seat into the trunk. I mounted the amp to the back side of the back seat. You'll need to run a signal wire from behind your deck to the amp. This will tell the amp when to turn on. where you connect this wire will depend on whether you have the stock deck, or after market. The last cable is the ground. I drilled a hole in the body tub under the trunk carpeting, and ground it directly to that. Don't forget the RCA cables from the back of you deck to the amp. Good luck. |
