Fujimi Z4 gt3 2012 DX

Hello,

I'm considering purchasing the Fujimi Z4 GT3 2012 DX version from Hobby Search:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10237648

I see that there is a regular (non-DX version):
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10212844

What I would like to know is whether the DX version comes with the PE parts that is included in the non-DX version or not:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10212844z8/70/8

So the DX version would have two PE parts, one above, and another one as listed as here:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10237648z8/70/8

I think that is the case, but I would like some confirmation before I purchase

Thank you!

Re: Fujimi Z4 gt3 2012 DX

Thanks. I ordered the DX version, and I was also disappointed to not have the original PE parts. Indeed the coloured PE parts in the DX version is pretty cool, but I think the seat belts, the radiator grill and brake discs are must, so I ordered a Studio 27 upgrade parts:

This has other items that are not in the kit (I believe it includes the metal exhaust pipes too). I can't wait to start building!

Re: Fujimi Z4 gt3 2012 DX

I wanted to do the Schubert Nurb 24H livery:

But the Studio 27 decal seems to be sold out everywhere (and discontinued). I'm looking at other available livery on Hobby Search or Hobby Link Japan, but what is available doesn't really interest me.

Do you know anywhere else I can get a livery decal for this kit?

Try with DecalDoc; if I remember right he had this decal available.

Thanks. Do you (or anyone else) have experience with decals from there? I'm wondering what the quality of the decals were. Also, it looks like I order by contacting through e-mail. Any experience dealing with the guy?

Looking through the webpage, I might be more interested in this livery instead:

Re: Fujimi Z4 gt3 2012 DX

I used decaldoc sheets both for my 458 gt2 and for my bmw m3 gtr. They are very good, just a little delicate when u polish theme, so be careful.

Thanks for the response lovegt40.

Did you put a clearcoat over the decals? What did you use? I have some Tamiya TS-13 I would like to use, but do you know if it will react badly (I read some decals and clears don't mix well)?

Also, where did you find the M3 GTR? I NEED to get it!

Re: Fujimi Z4 gt3 2012 DX

as clearcoat I used tamiya ts-13,polished with tamiya compounds. As usual with unknown decals u'd better start with very soft passages keeping the "wet heavy" ones for last.I never use 2k gloss cause I think it is too thick (or simply its me not good enough with it ).

the bmw m3 e92 is taken from scaleauto slot body. They provide a pretty nice carrosserie and dashboard, so all the remaining parts (including wheels) must be done by yourself or taken by other models.
It was not a too hard build btw, and the final effect is very cool and unique imho.
I made a wip somewhere here in forum, as well as video of her:

kcirick - I have purchased several set of decals from "Frank" at Decaldoc - he gives excellent service and his decals are great quality for "Alps" printers type.

That being said the decals need to be trimmed close to the edge as there is no boundary border.

I have been able to clear coat the decals by using "future" and I'm currently working on a Ferrari 458 GT2 that I am going to try and Clear coat with 2K urethane. I think if I use several light thin coats to cover the decals first and then a flow coat the decals will be okay - obviously I will be testing the decals first and not just spraying the whole car first.

John

Kcirick,

Revell Germany has the BMW M3 DTM slated for December release. Not sure how different it is from the GTR but would no doubt be a good starting point.
