Lotus 49 Ford F1

Here's my new project guys,

this is a commissioned build for the guy with the Kawasaki GPZ I recently completed.

Now it's time for something completely different. He had this model in his closet for over 10 years, but didn't build it because he hadn't the skills to do.

The kit is very old and is from Tamiya in the scale 1/12. The decals are pretty useless I think, but luckely he added a new set of decals in the kit. I don't know the manufactor of these decals, but they look good to me.

I have to build the Monza GP version, so I will use the #20 decals.

For the colour I'll use British Racing Green from Zero Paints, and I think i can't use the yellow decal for the nosepart, so I have to find a matching yellow to paint that part.

This will be an OOB build, but I think I can make a nice model from this Tamiya kit.

Kris.

The decals are from F1 Specialties, sadly no longer with us (RIP Norm), and are very high quality.

Looking forward to watching this rare kit being built.

I know mate, I ordered the green/yellow paintset for this specific car at Domino.be already. And will use the Green I already had for an other model.

Re: Lotus 49 Ford F1

Yesterday I painted the body in yellow first. After some masking I painted the British Racing Green.

And yesterday I clearcoated it with Zero 2K Clear.
