Bed Compatability

Does anybody know if a long bed from a 1/2 ton 2008 Silverado will fit on a long bed 2008 1-ton Silverdo? I am under the impression that the 1 ton and 3/4 ton beds are the same, but not sure about the 1/2 ton beds?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although I don't have much automotive knowledge to offer in return for all the help I get from these forums, I am a master electrician, so if anyone needs electrical advice I would consider it my rent here to share. Just PM me.

Re: Bed Compatability

To follow up:

I had my Chevy dealer run the VIN from my truck and compare it to the VIN from the truck from which the new bed came. He confirmed that both trucks show the same part number for the bed.

Conclusion:
I think it's a safe assumption to say that generally the beds from the 1/2 ton trucks and the HD trucks are interchangeable.
