Power Steering Leak
Hi,
I noticed red fluid coming out of a line behind the radiator. The line runs directly into the bottom of the radiator. Is that line the lower pressure or high pressure power steering line? Thanks 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, GT 3.8L |

Re: Power Steering Leak
Uhm --uhh red fluid is tranny fluid- your radiator has a tranny cooler built into it-- never seen a power steering cooler in a radiator- engine oil cooler -yes- but not PS. So if it leaks at connection- probably needs an o-ring or plastic ferrule replaced- if leaks on line- then line replaced- leaks in radiator (unlikely) then radiator replaced..

Re: Power Steering Leak
I was told that I have a power steering high pressure line leak so I just assumed that was it. I jacked up the car and followed the lines right into the trans. Now it's time to replace the cooler line

Re: Power Steering Leak
The power steering pressure line is the line that threads into the power steering pump. It may also be leaking...
