Angry help!!!!!!!!

I drive a 94 camry xle with the 5sfe motor. It stipped working on while i was going down the interstate. Before it stopped, i notice that the speedometer was getting slower and slower. So i pulled off to the side of the road and before i was able to stop and get it in park, it quit. Smoke was rolling out but it was like a white clear smoke. When i got it home, i tried starting it and it sound like the compression on the cylinders was way out. Any help about what could be wrong would. be great.

Re: help!!!!!!!!

Check your coolant level. It's possible that you leaked out your coolant and damaged your engine. It's also possible that the problem is a blown head gasket and the engine is ok.

Re: help!!!!!!!!

The coolant level was low but oil was fine, not milky or anything.

Re: help!!!!!!!!

You need to take it to a mechanic you trust and have the engine evaluated for overheating damage. Not something you or I can do.

> "sound like the compression on the cylinders was way out" - meaning a higher pitched whine while cranking? Take a peek under the distributor cap while you crank the engine. Rotor not moving? Your timing belt is broke. If so then relative to the timing belt your engine should still be ok because it is a non-interference engine. That said, If your head gasket blew then you may still have engine damage.

Hey Brian. I see you're still here havin fun.
