Hi Guys,

I'm about to start building Tamiya's 1/12 Mini, and wondered if theres any aftermarket bits and bobs you could recommend?

Re: 1/12 Tamiya Mini

Hi Shane,

Mate, probably not a whole lot out there as far as I know.
Maybe some wheels and tyres (?) from an R/C source. I recall Tamiya also offering the Mini in their remote control line up some time back.
If you wanted to get creative, you might look at adding a bike motor.
Look for reference on Motor bike engined Mini's....they ARE out there, mostly European and UK I think.
R1 front engined Mini

A lot of them even fit them as mid or rear engined, rear wheel drive.

Food for thought.

But you are on your own I think. I've been messing with 1/12 for some time and most stuff you need to make yourself.
Good luck mate which ever direction you choose to go, I will follow a build thread if you get something going.

Thanks Greg,

This is my "quit smoking" build, so I'll be a bit anal about it, when I get over the no nicotine shakes

Haha, I think (sometimes..) about how much extra I could spend on models if I gave up that nasty habit. Damn too addicted I'm afraid.
Good luck with it mate. (the build and the quitting )

Re: 1/12 Tamiya Mini

I can't answer for certain, but there might be a PE set, etc. What I do is a search on multiple sources, Google. eBay, etc. and see what comes up?!

A quick search here gives some other builds people have done, and that can sometimes give you ideas from what mods they have done

When I worked out smoking was costing me $180 a week I decided it was time. Went to a hypnotherapist and so far so good. I could still have a smoke, but I don't need it.

Saving the $800 a month will let me buy the 1/12 Tamiya Enzo, 1/72 Dragon Apollo etc in quick time - the stash grows
