fast streetable cars

So I am looking at building a very fast 9 or 8 second 1/4 car that I can still drive on the streets easy. I want full interior a/c etc all still intact. Currently I am looking at a gtr but I was wondering what other options I have, esp that are a bit cheaper. Any ideas?

I highly doubt what you are after exists. You'll always have to deal with compromises. If you're referring to stop and go traffic, you should just forget the idea immediately, at least with the "easy" street driving. To hold that power, you're going to need an aggressive clutch, and that clutch is going to be loud and uncomfortable, especially in stop and go traffic. Start doing leg presses now

With that said, I'm sure there are quite a few cars out there that could be modified to essentially do what you need (besides the "easy" part). I can only suggest based on what I'm use to working on. So, have you considered a DSM (Mitsubishi Eclipse/ Eagle Talon/ Plymouth Laser) or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution? Those might fill your criteria, for the most part, but you might want to have some deep pockets for what you're after.

Money isn't a big problem I have been looking at an alpha 16 gtr which fits my description perfectly but basically just trying to figure out if there is anything cheaper. It will almost definitely have to have an auto though for those kind of numbers. Not against DSM but at those levels you are talking about building a car that is only10% original haha.
