AMT Ford Probe

Found at a local car show swap meet. Not sure on color yet but I know turbo was in order as was some wiring.

And piping pretty much done

Was thinking of some decals, but with all the complex lines on the body there is no way of doing anything. Maybe just a paint job. Comments always welcome.

Re: AMT Ford Probe

Fantastic start... Love the turbo setup. What did you use to make the piping? Bends look really smooth. Can't wait to see more!!

Re: AMT Ford Probe

all of the tubing is small diameter solder. The main part of the turbo and downpipe are plastic rod with solder wrapped tightly around to make the snail sections. All bends are just hand bent. the only bend I used a tool with is the 90° after the turbo. decided to go with a color change paint as the body has a lot of edges. hopefully it will work out. thanks for the reply.

Re: AMT Ford Probe

Quick update:

More solder work...just for you HondaSan. Exhaust is a little bit more tricky at times cause most cars run under the rear suspension. Can be a bit tight at times causing stance issues

Engine Bay, pretty plain

Will it all fit????

Thats all for now... Thanks for the comments.

Re: AMT Ford Probe

Finally got around to the window. I feel spoiled now with window masks...had to do this all freehand

And then to cut the roof supports without breaking the a pillars...just a bit of unwanted stuff to paint

Also, I did the taillights with foil. Also experimented with some aluminum tubing

and

Tried to make it look like bulbs and housings.
Hopefully getting the body, glass, interior and chassis together this weekend.

Re: AMT Ford Probe

the rear lights look interesting, the circle at the corner is a bit strange.

Re: AMT Ford Probe

Yea, now that i look at it, it is weird. Guess I got carried away. Finally finished it. didn't realize how warped things were, only 3 wheels touch...

Thanks for watching. Going to start my 1:12 Tyrrell P34 I think. Stay Tuned.
