Fuel pump problems
hey everyone, i put a brand new fuel pump in my 96 ford ranger 4l exteneded cab last week cause the last one was shutting off then died on me, now the new one is doing just that! my truck has died on the highway and at a stop light already, it takes a few taps on the top of the fuel pump to get it to work again and i am worndering if i should go buy another fuel pump or maybe someone here has had this problem before and could help me out! thank alot

You got a '96 four banger correct and unlike my '99 Ranger, your fuel pump is not located inside the gas tank. It might be that your newly bought fuel pump is defective. You should be able to turn it back in on warranty.
