89 sentra won't start

Hello. My daughter was driving her Sentra and it suddenly died. I've checked the fuses, made sure it was getting fuel and it has spark to the coil. Changed out the distributor thinking it was the cam-shaft censor...it's internal on the '89 and checked the timing chain. It's still in tact. Can't find any vacuum leaks. EGR valve seems okay. Brought it up to tdc, rotor is lined up to #1 on the cap. Noticed the timing mark is way off on the pulley. Any clues?
