Darker Steel Color?

Hey guys.
Right now I'm working on the 'engine' (its two peices mostly) of my viper. I wanted most of the parts that are sticking out to be darker than the tranny. I chose steel for the darker color and chrome silver for the tranny. Well it went down great but there really isn't much of a difference between the two colors. I guess I'm stuck with these colors on the engine, but for future reference, is there a darker silver-ish looking color other than steel? Thanks.

You need to look at Testors Model Master metalizer colors, there is a full range of metal colors which are more realistic than their enamel paints.

Yeah that should be great. I'll have to pick that up next time I go to the LHS.

Since you're in Atlanta, you should check out AutoMotif hobby shop on Atlanta Road, and the HobbyTown in Kennesaw off Barrett Pkwy, if you haven't already.

Been to hobbytown many times (I'm into r/c, so that means lots of trips to the LHS). I actually live in kennesaw so its right next door. A bit overpriced though... I'll have to check out that one in atlanta soon.
Thanks for the tips.

Thanks I'll look for a few of those paints at my next hobby run.
Light Gunmetal
Titanium
Magnesium
And any testors metalizer colors.

Thanks all for your help

P.S. I ditched that idea on my viper engine and painted the steel black. Well maybe next model I can get creative.
