McLaren MP4/27

Hi guys,

After making Ferrari F150 & other Ferraris, I've decided to try making McLaren for a change.

Here are the photos of the rear suspension. This I painted with X-18 & XF-6 to paint the rear suspension. Noticed one side brake caliper got label while the other brake caliper doesn't have label? Cause that time when I put it up I think I didn't dry that part up properly thus it must have slipped off & I couldn't find it

As for the monocoque, the nose cone & the other parts, I used TS-83 (Metallic silver) to paint the body. I primed them with white colour first before I used the colour above on the parts.

That will be it for the moment, more photos to come later on my works.

Re: McLaren MP4/27

Hi again,

This is one thing about using metallic colours. All this while be it making MotoGP kits of F1 kits, I did not even finish using the spray cans when I make a kit but when I was making this kit, I kind of finish the TS-83 can when making this kit. But thank goodness that I managed to spray the parts needed before the can goes empty. That is just my opinion.

The photos of the main front wing & the side of the front wing.

This takes me a while to paint underneath parts with X-18 & trying to attach the side of the front wing with the main part & somehow I managed to get it stick. I've placed the Vodafone logo prior to the attachment like the photos above.

The part of the rear wing. Will work on it tomorrow, provide if got time.

That'll be it for the time being.

Re: McLaren MP4/27

Hi guys,

Here are the photos of the completed kit in various angles after almost a week making this.

It took me a while for me to decide whose number to put on that is either Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton but I've decided to put Jenson Button's instead.

After this I'm still deciding either to make Williams FW16 or McLaren MP 4/6. Anyway, I have some time to think about it.

Comments & advise are most welcomed.

Thanks for viewing.

Ease up and properly finish individual parts before painting would be my advice. A week is a very short time to finish a 1:20 F1 car. Too short.

Re: McLaren MP4/27

Thanks guys,

Flemming & michel1973 : I kind of made a mistake on the nose cone as I didn't sand off enough putty that time. Sides, I'm not well versed with F1 cars unlike MotoGP bikes as I've been making MotoGP bikes till I have no more bikes to make & decided to try F1 for a change. You can see some of my other works on F1 as well.

Adrian - do not worry about criticism from some of the people on the forum - the forum is here for us to share our accomplishments and learn skills and techniques from each other along the road called life.
You do very good work on the motorcycles and you are improving with your F1 cars each time - the secret is to NOT give up such a wonderful hobby
