Hasegawa 250 Testa Rossa

Finished this baby yesterday. Paint is pure white by Tamiya, no clear. Used P/E set for the kit with the Hasegawa P/E wheels. Engine is from Histroric Racing Miniatures. Decals are Cartograph.

Very nice build. The engine and seat piping are very well done. I'm curious that you decided not to fill the seam where the front fenders join the body near the doors.

Re: Hasegawa 250 Testa Rossa

This is amazing beauty!
I Have one just like this, the photoetched parts and cartograf decals - are in the kit completely. I have also a Deluxe photoetched parts from HD. I want build it soon, but I have one question:
How you made this excellent white stripes on the red sits???

Looks great! How did you do the piping on the seats?

Re: Hasegawa 250 Testa Rossa

Thank you guys, as most of you already know, the piping is actually molded already on the seats but I knew it was going to be a pain trying to mask it so I went a better route.

I had some white wire laying around my parts box and I thought it would be the perfect scale too so I decided to sand off the existing molded piping and used my own wire. With a bit of patience and some slow drying crazy glue, I was able to get this done....

Re: Hasegawa 250 Testa Rossa

Beautiful job on the piping. Don't know how you did it without getting glue all over the seats. I can't even glue seat belts on without getting the odd glob here and there!

Great looking engine too!

Thanks bro but I did get q bit of glue on the seats. The seats were painted flat red and then the piping was added, the reason you don't see the glue marks is that once I finished, I added one coat of clear from a distance with the airbrush, this gave the seats that vinyl look and evened everything up!

Re: Hasegawa 250 Testa Rossa

Impressive build as always man, love the piping on the seats, don't know how the heck they came out so nice and straight but you are the man. What did you use for venturis? They look so cool in those stacks.

Thanks Ed. I use hypodermic needles for the venturis and other little items like the spark plug wires and stuff. They come in different gauges and can be used for many things.
