How to Understand an Estimate Regarding Ball Joint Replacement
Hello,
During an oil change, the shop suggested this: "Ball joint - Remove and Replace - LS,In-Line4 Control Arm, Lower,One Side" Does this mean it is the front left ball joint? Do I need to replace the whole control arm and ball joint assembly? Also, I am getting new tires and an alignment. Does anyone know if it is okay to get the tires and alignment first and then replace the ball joint? Thanks! |

Re: How to Understand an Estimate Regarding Ball Joint Replacement
That vehicle may have the ball joint as part of the lower arm, did you ask the shop? I would do the joint first then the tires and alignment.

Thanks!
So do you happen to know what side they're referring to in that estimate statement? What does "LS,in-line4" mean? |

LS means left side. I am not sure about that in line4 business.

Re: How to Understand an Estimate Regarding Ball Joint Replacement
As Max stated, the ball joint is service with the control arm. Get the parts replaced before the tires and alignment. "line 4" may refer to the 4th line on the repair order?
