98 5.7 not starting

Looking for some help I have a 98 chevy truck that won't start.
After it sits. It was starting after cycling the key a few times.
But now it won't start. Could it be the pump? I hear it running.
Or could it be the regulater? It was running good after it started.
No check engine light, no gas smell, and no rough idle.
Please help!!

no DTC codes then the fuel pressures must be checked. using a pressure guage do the pressure test procedure.

Is there a way to tell if its the pump or the regulator?
Loosing pressure?

Plug or block off return line.
With return bloke off you should see 95-105 lbs. with a good fuel pump.
But do not run pump at full pressure over a couple seconds.

if you do not want to do the pressure test with the gauge the way to find out is ,,,, change parts until it works.

now if you buy a pump get the ac delco or delphi do not use any air tex pumps . only last about 6 months.

Re: 98 5.7 not starting

I put a gauge on it and it reads 48 pounds.
I let it sit and it stayed at 48pounds. I poured gas in the throttle body and it started right up. I let it run for about 5 mins it idled fine.
Does it sound like the pump to y'all??

Sure does.
You need 60/66 lbs. 63-64 cold ranking pressure.
Or the injectors will not squirt on a cold start.

Also read and perform test in post 4.
