Yes, I am in a couple of months. Thinking about it though, might get a Chevy or Sierra again as I know how reliable they will be with the right maintenance. Been scouring auto trader.com a lot and have a question: Which models have the flow-thru center console?, I really like the look of those interiors,

Re: Going strong at 256K
Well, I finally did the transmission pan drop and filter exchange and added 5 Qt's of new fluid. Of course the drain plug was a no go so oil all over the place..... Also did the engine oil/filter after putting in some seafoam a week ago, drained out a lot of gunk so that's a good thing. Transmission fluid was pretty bad so I'm wondering if I should exchange all of it now, if I can somehow get the drain plug loosened I could just fill new fluid while draining the old right? Another good thing was that there was absolutely nothing on the magnet in the transmission pan.

GM used permanent lock tight . this is why . when installing the plug I used a small amount of thread sealant for machined threads. when I did this ,,,, when the plug broke loose the lock tight exploded out ward ! |

Re: Going strong at 256K
Thanks jCat, not sure if I want to remove the pan again..... I'll see if I can find a good socket and will try to get the plug out while the pan is still attached. What will be the best way to replace all the fluid? Let it run for a while to cycle all the fluid through the tranny and cooler then drain some and add some and repeat this a couple of times?
