Not sure about the color coding. But here is a link for a 2001 Factory Service manual download. Section 8W has rear lighting diagram. http://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen-...tmas-guys.html

same as hayes book doesn't say really the color except L10 18 BR/LG by the switch but even hoping that the wiring was under the hood easier to access

as by the tail lights its LT 18 VT/Bk

guess I gotta take console out to find the wiring lol

Re: 00 1500 what color is Reverse Wire under dash

That's circuit L1, 18 gauge wire and it's violet and black.

Don't unplug the #1 Joint Connector in the Power Distribution Center (underhood fuse box) and turn the keyswitch on...it'll set off a bunch of codes.
Mine set off P0122. p0230, P1492, P1693 and the death code to a diesel...P1689.
I reset them all with my scan tool.
It's all ok now.

Re: 00 1500 what color is Reverse Wire under dash

ok what does the L1 mean? and I cant find the violet black wire just found the pinkish and purple wire haven't unplugged any cables yet

you don't have a pic of the wiring under ur dash? or is there a good spot to tap into under the hood

I spent a long time trying to find this crap

the diagrams I don't really understand as they not your typical wiring diagrams that are straight through like GM books

but where abouts is the violet black wire be great as I having hard time finding it

Re: 00 1500 what color is Reverse Wire under dash

For an auto trans, check page 2390 of the service manual for the switch location then trace back to the violet/black wire.

Re: 00 1500 what color is Reverse Wire under dash

k thanks that wasn't in the section I was looking couldn't even see that page too late now

I thought the switch was in the shifter in the steering column and I coulnt find the wire in the mesh of wires with the 1 bolt that holds the harness on

so what I did which was easier I just ran 2 wires to the rear tail light and tapped into the purple black wire and it went to the relay under the hood an the 2nd wire powers the 2 55w flood lights but like something brighter or more lights lol

but ill have to remember that the park neutral switch is also the neutral switch
