AC compressor shot?

Hello, i have a friend with a 2001 venture who has had 3 bolts snap off on the front of the ac compressor and the ac will no longer work. Common issue? He would rather buy one used if possible instead of buying a new one for a couple hundred....he just bought a house and has 3 needy kids. Lol Not sure where or if theres a for sale section on this forum so i could find a used compressor that works??? Thanks!
