Could it be... could there be an orange F1 LM displayed in Monterey...?

Early rumor suggests the possibility of such things. Pretty astounding if true.

We'll call this a developing story.

heard that too..... possibly LM3 as we know where LM2 and XP1LM are right now, and the others haven't seen the light of day in ages?

I hope so Erik for your sake, I know it blew me away when I first saw XP1LM in 2006, I spent about 5 hours just soaking in all the details and 'experiencing' the car! I also cant tell you how much I enjoyed seeing the GT earlier this year!!

Well this familiar face went on a transporter yesterday:

At this time of year its most likely destination is Monterey or somewhere in between with a drive into town like they did last year.

Still hoping for the real deal, but I won't believe it until I see it.

Edit: After a bit more digging, that photo was taken in Salt Lake City, UT. So was this one...

With an 'I love my job' caption...

014 is confirmed for Monterey again. No complaints here.

Hopefully one of many?

Henry - if you guys want to deliver the LM to my house I would be happy to drive it up the coast for you next week. No trouble at all and I'll even spring for all the 'petrol' I use.

* Probably funnier when I write it than when you read it...

Never say never but I would be pretty surprised if there was an LM there this year, maybe static but it won't be driven.
I can confirm that from recent experience the LM is a whole different ball game to the standard road car or even a de-restricted, remapped GTR, everything is turned up to 15!

Well I like what the rumor mill suggests a bit more, but you have never steered us wrong before. I'm not uncrossing my fingers...

feel free to expand on the rumour mill then (in private if you prefer) as you have my interest! I am fairly certain of the movements of 2 cars over the next 3 weeks so the other options really would be a turn up for the books!

Epic road trip...

The blue is suggested, but they are following the grey route and have landed in Bishop for the evening.

If they continue in the direction I expect, they will have Yosemite National Park to run through tomorrow on their way into Monterey.

Nicob alerted me to a new post on Mike's feed this morning - the F1 is apparently out of commission with a recurring starter motor problem so it will get trucked to Oxnard for repair.

Sadness. Was hoping to see it there this weekend.

That's a shame! It had an issue last year as well, didn't it?

Yeah - might have been the same issue.

We still consider these cars modern and relevant, but they are 15 - 19 years old now and even with meticulous care can still be a pain. Just sucks when it happens for an owner on a trip like that one.
