Code-Alarm Mirage 4500 preventing ignition on Camry
Haven't made sense of all of the forum threads online re alarm system failures that prevent car ignition--this is not strictly about the Camry. Without any signs of malfunctioning, went to start car & saw security sys led light on dash blinking fast. Supposed to mean attempt to enter car. No ignition. Jumped battery & got really good ignition. Drove a few miles to store. Had to get 2 people in parking lot to help with a jump start again (1st one stalled). Drove fine. Could not restart car next time. Each time the armed light flashing & system cycling. I never turn the system on from the transmitter on the key chain. 5 days now, I just tried again starting it up & it did, perfectly. Turned it off and tried again--no go--alarm system cycling (doors locking/unlocking,exterior lights flashing, buzzing sounds, led light on dash blinking). Hmmm.
Couldn't find the Emergency Override Button--I really looked for it. Could be maybe a valet button? But not actually sure that option was installed. Tried pushing it in with key turned to 'on' in the ignition, but nothing.
Car bought used & I never paid any attention to alarm system & the horn was disconnected. Haven't been using transmitter to turn it on & off. Had car for 6 years, no problem.
Weak battery in transmitter? Burnt fuse in alarm system? Simplest way to disable system? Anybody have any experience with this?
