Tamiya Mercedes Original Teile DTM CLK 2000

Here is my Original Teile Mercedes CLK DTM from Tamiya. It is complete, minus the windshield wiper which I realized I had forgotten after taking the photos. It is painted with the Tamiya paint called for in the directions and using the majority of the Scale Motorsport PE set. I am pretty happy with it considering I thought about taking a hammer to it a few times. I love big decal jobs and have done 7-8 of them. However, I had a lot of trouble getting this one to look right in places. Tamiya does not point out that there is a recommended sequence of decaling and I found out the hard way. There is a WIP thread here:http://www.randyayersmodeling.com/mo...ic.php?t=78292 I am still working on the West car and put the first coat of Future on it today. I'll do another coat tonight and wait a few days and decide on a 3rd coat. Let me know what you think.

Rob

decals came out great, especially around the ductwork on the front fenders. Great job!!

Re: Tamiya Mercedes Original Teile DTM CLK 2000

Thanks for the kind words. Matthew, I actually cut the decals on the fender louvers into seperate decals. Otherwise they wouldn't have turned out as nice most likely.

Brilliant model. As already noted, the work on the wheel arches is sublime!

Don't see these very often anymore. Spectacular build. What a great looking racer.
